Eureka! Inventing is the flagship service of the Eureka! Ranch and has been for 25+ years.
It's what we're best known for - big, bold, brave ideas grounded in real technology. It's a 12 week process that takes you from dreams and goals to a Meaningfully Unique Innovation that is highly protectable. First Two Weeks: Deep Immersion into your Very Important Problem or Opportunity Area The process starts with a series of in-person conversations to define the project objective. We confront reality on what level of innovation is requested, strategic areas that are not requested and any tactical or executional constraints. Next, we do a deep dive of mining to learn more about the possibilities within the challenge. This is customized for each project but often involves touring manufacturing facility, meeting with customers, key departments and senior leadership. It also involves mining in areas outside your organization including technologies available, academic research in the area, a review of the competitive landscape and ways other industries and markets address similar challenges. Week Four: Round 1 Presentation - Right-set with Reactions to Preliminary Inventions The Eureka! Inventing team will spend a half-day with you to present a collection of invention options that fit your objective in a Spark Deck. It's followed by a guided discussion on possibilities. Week Eight: Round 2 Presentation - With Refined Concepts & Risk Adjusted Sales Forecasts The Eureka! Inventing team will visit with you for another half day. In this second round presentation you'll not only see new/improved invention options. You'll also review refined concepts and risk adjusted sales forecasts for each of the top innovations. Week Twelve: Final Round Presentation - with Quantitative and Qualitative Customer Research The Eureka! Inventing Team will present the final round of invention options including results of both Truth Teller Quantitative & Interact Qualitative Customer Research. After this final meeting you will be in a position to do one or more of the following: a) file a patent on the invention, b) license a found technology (that has been initially vetted as commercially viable or c) prepare a process to protect trade secrets or tactical protection elements. Note: It's not uncommon that after seeing the stimulus of the inventions, your thinking on your objective will expand to reflect new possibilities you weren't aware of. Because we do rounds of invention and reaction with you, we are able to adapt easily to ensure you get what you need. |
5 out of 6 concepts we worked on with Eureka! achieved top quintile Bases scores - and on of the concepts set a new high for our company! Speed was important to me -- we needed to bring new product ideas to our executives in a two-month time frame. The Eureka! process helped us conceptualize our ideas and test them with excellent, fast, quantitative results. We received full-funding and senior management approval at our first presentation thanks to the work we did with Eureka! |
